Camp Cherith provides a safe and supportive Christian community in which girls can grow in their faith, build relationships with others, develop new skills, and grow in appreciation for God’s creation. Campers are divided into cabins of about 8 girls by age group. In this small group setting their counselors will guide and encourage campers in their understanding and relationship with Jesus through a daily bible study, devotions, and prayer. Campers will be able to choose from a wide array of activities, which will allow girls to pursue their interests and develop new skills. Most of the activities at camp take place outside in God’s creation and Camp Cherith intentionally seeks to grow campers’ appreciation of the great outdoors.
Each moment throughout the day at Camp Cherith is designed to encourage and support a camper’s relationship with God. Campers will be guided to study, memorize, and apply God’s word to their life. Every morning there is a time set aside to read the Bible on their own, and later in the day, there will be times of group worship, prayer, spiritual messages, and reflection to assist campers in growth in their relationship with Christ. At camp, campers are asked to recognize and act on the need to accept Christ as their savior and to see how important He is to every phase of life.
There is so much fun to be had by participating in Camp Cherith’s wide array of activities and evening programming. Camp Cherith campers will have the opportunity to discover their God-given abilities and develop increased self-confidence through learning and improving in skill-building activities. Whether strengthening on past successes or trying something new, campers develop perseverance, a sense of accomplishment, and leadership skills as they create memories that will last a lifetime.
During their time at Camp Cherith, campers will be a part of an intentional Christian community with a Biblical worldview. This community seeks to provide opportunities for campers to build personal and community relationships that align with Jesus’ teachings. Making new friends, learning to respect and value the differences in others, making choices, taking responsibility, and working together as a team are all part of the camp experience.
