Horsemanship is the only activity at camp that is not included in your basic camp fee.

Horsemanship Class Fee: $100 (includes 5 days of horsemanship class, one hour each day).

Classes are assigned by riding ability/experience. Horsemanship class is available for campers who have finished 2nd grade or higher. Contact registrar@camp-cherith.com for exceptions if your first grader has significant horse experience.

Campers must wear non-slippery long pants such as jeans, socks, and closed toed shoes. Riding boots are preferred, and we have some boots available for campers to borrow. Tennis shoes are acceptable, but riders may not be able to use their stirrups if they are wearing tennis shoes.

Campers who have completed grades 4-12 who wish to ride a horse but who do not wish to take the horsemanship class may elect to sign up for a trail ride during free time or cabin time. Trail rides are free of charge.

Pony rides will be offered one day per week during free time for campers who have completed grades 1-3 and are free of charge.
